If you do not have cumin powder roast cumin seeds until fragrant and grind to a powder. Soak the dal for at least two hours in warm water. Using as little water as possible grind to a coarse paste in the food processor. Drain, add the green chillies and blend in a mixer to a smooth paste, using approx. ½ cup of water. vada recipe
Steps to make Mix dal appam vada:
- First of all soak the mixed dals in water for 6-8 hours. - After that strain out the water, grind the dals and make a thick paste.
- Add flours in it. Here you can take a variety of flours as your choices and availability like multigrain flour to make it healthier. - Then add all spices to taste. Here I make it in pavbhaji flavour so I go for pav bhaji masala. You can add any spices, puries, paste as per your taste.
- Now mix all ingredients, make a smooth batter and keep aside for rest for 10 minutes. - Then take appam patra, grind it with oil. Heat the appam patra at low to medium flame and pour small portions of batter into it.
- Once down side of vada turns in light brown colour, flip the vada. Take out vada when other side also turn out with light brown colour. - - Tasty and healthy mix dal appam vada is ready to serve!!!!
