  9. Prepare 2-3 tbsp Roasted and powdered makhana
  10. Prepare 8-10 cashews (cut into small pieces)
  11. Take 2 tbsp Desi ghee

It is very easy to prepare and requires less time to cook. To cook the sago, add enough water and boil until the pearls turn transparent. Adding it makes the Appams soft as well as crispy. A good fermented appam batter would give a lot of tiny holes when cooking the appam.

Steps to make Sago appam:
  1. Soak sabodaana in water for 4-5 hours. after it drain the excess water.and squeeze it
  2. In a bowl mix sago, mashed potatoes and all ingredients except ghee.
  3. Make a dough and divide into equal portions.
  4. Make the lemon sized ball.
  5. Now heat the appam pan and greased it with ghee.
  6. Place the sago balls in the pan. Cover the lid.
  7. Cook on low flame till the bottom side becomes golden brown in colour.
  8. Now flip the appes.drop some ghee and cook again for 3-4 minutes or till golden brown.
  9. Now remove them out in a plate.
  10. Serve with chutney.
