  1. Get 2 cup green gram
  2. Take 1/2 cup urad dal
  3. Make ready 1/2 cup rice
  4. Prepare 1 onion
  5. Prepare 1 tomato
  6. Get Coriander
  7. Get leaves Curry
  8. Make ready Oil
  9. Take 1/2 tspoon mustard seeds
  10. Get 1 tspoon cumin seeds
  11. Prepare Salt

Add curry leaves & coriander leaves. Put pesarattu ingredients in a mixer jar & coarsely with enough water. Pesarattu / green gram batter is ready. Cut the onion into small pieces.

Steps to make Green gram paniyaram/appam:
  1. Soak green gram for 8 hrs. Urad dal and rice for 2hrs
  2. Now take it in mixi jar and grind it to batter. Not too thick not too runny rest it for 15-20 min.
  3. Now take takda pan. Put it on flame and add some oil. When oil gets heated add cumin, mustard seeds and let them crackel. Then add curry leaves
  4. Add this tadka into batter. Now add chopped onion, tomato and coriander and mix it well.
  5. Take appam patra heat it up and grease it well with oil. Once it gets heated up put the batter into moulds and put lid.
  6. Now flip it and let it cook from other side too.
  7. Serve hot with coconut or peanut chutney.
  8. Note: if you want it spicy you can add green chillies during grinding.

In a small quantity of oil fry mustard seeds, blackgram dhal, curry leaves, green chillies and onion. Fry the onion till the brown colour exists. Now mix this to the batter thoroughly.
