  1. Make ready 2 cups rice
  2. Prepare 1 cup split chickpea
  3. Take 1 cup tuvar daal
  4. Make ready 5-7 red chillies
  5. Get Pinch asafoetida
  6. Prepare 8-10 curry leaves
  7. Prepare 1 medium size chopped onion
  8. Prepare 1/4 cup chopped coriander
  9. Prepare 1/2 cup grated coconut

  11. Prepare 1 spoon black pepper powder
  12. Take 1 spoon cumin seeds
Steps to make Vada Adai:
  1. In a bowl, take rice, chickpea dal, tuwar dal and rinse properly. Now add red chillies, curry leaves, asafoetida and soak for 5-7 hours. Add water as per needed.
  2. Now grind soaked batter in mixing jar and make smooth paste. Now add onion, coriander, salt, cumin seeds, black pepper powder and grated coconut. Mix well.
  3. Now pour batter on a nonstick towel. Make a hole in the middle. After 5 minutes, turn it over. Let it cook both sides.
  4. Now take it in a serving plate and serve it with coconut chutney.
