  1. Wash the rice and dals well and soak in water with red chillies for 3 hours.
  2. Add salt and grind them all together to coarse mixture.
  3. Add chopped curry leaves and asafoetida powder. MIx well.
  4. Heat a dosa tawa. If it is a cast iron tawa, the taste and texture will be perfect.
  5. Grease the tawa with half teaspoon oil.
  6. Pour two ladles of batter and spread to a dosa. make a hole in the middle.
  7. Drizzle a teaspoon of oil around and in the middle.
  8. Cook to crisp on the edges and golden brown on both the sides.
